Asian American Community Services is Hiring a Healthy Asian Youth Program Manager Near Columbus, OH

Position: Healthy Asian Youth After School & Summer Program Manager

Job Type: Full-Time, Salaried/Exempt

Schedule: Summer programming is 8 weeks in June and July, Monday through Friday, 9am through 4pm; After school programming is September through May, Monday through Friday, 3pm through 7pm. Administrative and planning hours are flexible.

Reports To: Program Director and/or Executive Director

Purpose: Manage the Healthy Asian Youth (HAY) after school and summer program; Oversee all staff, interns, volunteers, and workshop facilitators affiliated with the program; Promote positive community partnerships; Collaborative with HAY staff and all AACS staff to ensure an impactful after school and summer program.

Responsibilities:

1. Oversee the Healthy Asian Youth (HAY) After School and Summer Program for ages 5-13, including program administration, logistics, and implementation; curriculum development and instruction delivery; reporting, transportation and any other duties deemed necessary to ensure the safety and enrichment of all participants.

2. Supervise program staff, instructors, interns, and volunteers to promote the efficient and effective implementation of the specialized program curriculum (including reading, mathematics, science, social emotional learning, health, community engagement, cultural appreciation, and more). Recruit staff, volunteers, and interns, and coordinate training. Maintain a good record of all staff and affiliate’s activity, background, and capacity. Maintain adequate staffing levels and provide well-balanced feedback to staff.

3. Oversee coordination of the HAY After School and Summer Program, including planning, implementation, instruction, and supervision of participants, as well as supplementary workshops and events. Lead the planning, logistics, and arrangement of speakers and providers during workshops and events, and coordinate specific staff and intern roles during programming.

4. Provide outreach to the community, recruit participants, and inform/educate children and their families about the availability and benefits of the summer and after school program. Manage child intake and maintain participant records efficiently.

5. Maintain and collect required documentation and data for grants. Complete and submit reports and documentation to funders in a timely and accurate manner, in accordance with contract requirements and agency procedures. Research and pursue funding opportunities and assist with proposals as needed.

6. Develop and implement evaluations and assessments for participants to track project outcomes and choose effective performance measurement tools for academic enrichment courses.

7. Intervene appropriately when children disobey program rules; conduct visits to students’ homes to discuss the problem and aid the family and student in developing solutions. Link families to services at AACS (e.g., free health clinics, ESL classes, case management/therapy, translation services etc) if necessary.

8. Maintain excellent relationships with kids, families, volunteers, workshop facilitators, community partners and funders. Ensure that program objectives are met.

9. Actively participate in relevant AACS meetings and trainings as needed.

10. Maintain a professional appearance and manner reflective of AACS standards.

11. Assist Teen HAY Program Manager as necessary

12. Other job-related duties as assigned by the Program Director and/or the Executive Director.

Qualifications:

1. Clean driving record and BCII/FBI background check. Valid first aid and CPR certification preferred.

2. Bachelor’s degree in education, social work, or related field strongly preferred. Social service experience especially with children and youth preferred.

3. Experience working within a culturally and linguistically diverse environment highly desirable. Knowledge of Asian and Pacific Islander cultures preferred.

4. Bilingual in an Asian language preferred. Strong communication skills in English.

5. Strong leadership, time management, and collaboration skills required.

6. Must be flexible in order to work on a variety of projects simultaneously and maintain good relationships with families.
