Anthony’s Ladies Apparel in The Villages, FL is seeking an full-time Assistant Store Manager.

Our company was founded in 1895, Anthony’s is a family-owned and operated women’s apparel company with 13 stores across the state of Florida and an online store.

The ideal candidate will be friendly, outgoing, and energetic. Must love working with customers and helping associates provide a fun, memorable shopping experience.

The Assistant Manager will help the Store Manager in the planning and coordination of store activities by performing the following duties personally or assigning to sales associates.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assists the store manager in the store’s daily operations.
  • Acting as a liaison between the manager and all other associates
  • Helps with the supervision of store staff.
  • Provides sensitive and confidential administrative support to the manager.
  • Supervises and handles packaging and shipment of all orders.
  • Assures customers receive efficient and courteous service through processing of orders, i.e., mail, telephone, or email.
  • Receives and answers customer questions and complaints, within established guidelines.
  • Other duties as assigned.

EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • Supervisory Responsibilities: Carries out leadership responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable state laws. Responsibilities include providing and directing the customer experience on the sales floor, assigning and facilitating daily operations tasks when store manager is not present, appraising performance and providing feedback to associates. Coaching in the moment to help improve service opportunities, addressing complaints and resolving problems.
  • Education and/or Experience: High School Diploma and two-four years related experience within a retail setting
  • Communication Skills: Must have the ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from home office, associates, and customers in a professional manner. MUST have the ability to be persuasive with customers, keeping “customer satisfaction” as a guiding factor.
  • Mathematical Skills: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide into all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Reasoning Ability: Must have the ability to understand written and oral communication and think critically when executing tasks directed by home office and store manager.
  • Computer Skills: Competency with Windows operating systems and MS Office (Excel & Outlook) Previous POS and Register knowledge is helpful

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an associate to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the associate is regularly required listen and respond in an appropriate manner. The employee frequently is required to stand for long periods of time. The associate must be able to have unrestricted mobility and they will be required to regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Full use of hands and feet, and be able to see close vision and distance vision.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $15.00 per hour

Expected hours: 32 – 40 per week
