Animal Eye Specialists is Hiring a Registered Veterinary Technician Near Campbell, CA

Searching for an individual to work as a Registered Veterinary Technician. Person must be friendly, responsible, and able to multi task in the fast paced specialty hospital . The main duties of the position include: Provides assistance to Animal Eye Specialists (AES) veterinarians with a variety of procedures, with an emphasis in the following areas: physical exams related to ophthalmic conditions; sedation to perform procedures to treat ophthalmic conditions including ocular ultrasounds; working with other AES team members to prepare patients for surgery/ procedures including anesthesia induction, ET Tube placement and IV catheter placement. Anesthesia monitoring of patients in the operating, procedure or exam rooms during ophthalmic surgeries, procedures, and treatments including monitoring patients during recovery from surgery, procedures, and treatments.
Responsibilities:
  • Holding for physical exams related to ophthalmic conditions.
  • Preparing patients for sedation and anesthesia to perform procedures and surgeries to treat ophthalmic conditions.
  • Surgical preparation including endotracheal tube placement, anesthesia induction, and IV catheter placement.
  • Monitoring patients while under anesthesia in the operating room during ophthalmic surgeries.
  • Monitoring patients during recovery from surgery and other sedated procedures.
  • Cleaning and maintenance of surgical instruments, diagnostic equipment, and surgical medical equipment.
  • Cleaning and maintenance of the operating and exam rooms.
  • Light cleaning of the AES physical clinic areas as needed. 
Requirements: 
  • Hold a current Registered Veterinary Technician license valid and in good standing within the state of California.

Compensation: $33.00/ hour. Final wage will take into account and be commensurate with experience.
Hours and Availability:
  • We are anticipating this position to be 32-40 hours/ week on a consistent basis.
  • We are open Monday through Friday with normal business hours of 8AM to 6PM.
  • We are occasionally open Saturdays. Saturday work is on a rotational basis.
