We are searching for an individual who is friendly, responsible, hardworking, and able to multi-task in a fast-paced environment to work as a Veterinarian Assistant. Responsibilities:
Responsibilities:
- Provide assistance to Animal Eye Specialists (AES) veterinarians and technicians as it pertains to providing ophthalmic veterinary care to AES patients.
- Holding for physical exams related to ophthalmic conditions.
- Assisting AES technicians in preparing AES patients for sedation to perform ocular ultrasounds and other procedures to treat ophthalmic conditions.
- Assisting AES technicians in preparing AES patients for surgery with anesthesia induction, IV catheter placement, and endotracheal placement.
- Assisting AES veterinarians and technicians with patients in the operating room during ophthalmic surgeries.
- Assisting AES veterinarians and technicians with patients during recovery from surgery and other sedated procedures.
- Cleaning and maintenance of exam rooms, surgical instruments, and diagnostic equipment.
- Light cleaning of the AES physical clinic.
- Some cross training with the front desk duties including phone answering, appointment making, and client charge out.
Requirements:
- High School Diploma
- At least 2 years completed at a college level or actively participating in a college level educational program.
- Individuals with veterinary experience that includes anesthesia and surgery or in a veterinary technician training program are welcome to apply.

Compensation: Compensation will be dependent on experience and credentials ranging from $20 to $25/ hour.

We are a long-established (over 20 years!) Veterinary Ophthalmology specialty practice in Campbell, CA. We provide care for the eye problems of pets. We currently have a team of 3 boarded doctors in Veterinary Ophthalmology, 5 Registered Veterinary Technicians (RVT), 3 Customer Service Representatives (CSR), and 1 Practice Manager.
Hours and Availability:
We are anticipating this position to be 32-40 hours/ week on a consistent basis. We are open Monday through Friday during normal business hours of 8 AM-6 PM. We are occasionally open Saturdays. Saturday work is on a rotating basis.
