DESCRIPTION OF OPPORTUNITY

* A Direct Support Professional (DSP) supports clients in the areas of personal assistance, self-care, self-management, personal development, and personal well-being.
* Engage in activities with Individuals to live more independently within the community and/or be more productive and participatory in community life
* Maintain annual 24 hour training requirements

Responsibilities:

• Provide assistance with activities of daily living (ADLs), including bathing, grooming, and dressing.
• Implement personalized therapeutic interventions aimed at supporting the individual's development and well-being.
• Plan and facilitate outings to local malls, diners, and other community venues.
• Engage the individual in stimulating activities and social interactions during outings.
• Document and report on the individual's progress, behaviors, and any concerns to the supervisory team.
• Collaborate with the individual's support network, including family members and other professionals, to ensure continuity of care.

Qualifications:

• Master’s Degree or higher in Psychology, Special Education, Counseling, Social Work, Education, Applied Behavior Analysis or Gerontology OR ● PA Behavior Specialist License OR ● Licensed professional counselor, social worker (master's level or higher)
• Training or certification in Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) highly desirable.
• Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities, particularly in a direct support role.
• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively with individuals of diverse abilities.
• Patience, compassion, and a genuine desire to support the individual's growth and independence.
• Ability to adapt to the individual's evolving needs and preferences.
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation for outings.
