Can you resolve related assessment issues, in accordance with Oregon Department of Revenue rules and procedures? Your next challenge as a Program Supervisor in the Division of Assessment, Recording, and Taxation (DART) is to… Plan, prioritize, assign, supervise and review the work of staff involved in the Special Programs Group (SPG). Train, mentor and coach a team of four Tax Exemption Specialists and three Assessment Technicians. Direct and supervise the processing of applications for exemption and special assessments. Evaluate and analyze the Special Program processes to improve quality and efficiency. Assign, review, and supervise the preparation of appraisal/assessment reports to the Board of Property Tax Appeals, Department of Revenue and State Tax Court. Initiate, supervise and approve of changes to Assessment roll to correct errors. TO QUALIFY: We will consider any combination of relevant work experience, volunteering, education, and transferable skills as qualifying unless an item or section is labeled required. Minimum Qualifications/Transferable Skills*: Bachelor’s degree - preferably with major course work in real estate, appraising, business, accounting or related field. Experience may substitute for a degree (Equivalency of 7-years of qualifying training and/or experience). Three (3) years in real estate practices, assessment, taxation, and appraisal methods. Ability to pass a background check Preferred Qualifications/Transferable Skills*: You do not need to have the following preferred qualifications/transferable skills to qualify. However, keep in mind we may consider some or all of the following when identifying the most qualified candidates. Oregon State Appraiser’s registration (Or ability to obtain within 90 days of hire) Experience working with exemptions in an Ad Valorem tax environment Supervisory or leadership experience Experience in project management or process improvement Experience valuing a variety of properties using 3 approaches to value (market, income, & cost). *Transferable skills: Your transferable skills are any skills you have gained through education, work experience (including the military) or life experience that are relevant for this position. Schedule: Monday - Friday; There may be some flexibility with start and end times with work onsite at least 1-2 days a week.
