Position Overview:

The Assistant Service Advisor and gain firsthand experience in the day-to-day operations of a Service Advisor. You'll be responsible for ensuring every customer enjoys a positive experience, whether through phone calls, emails, or face-to-face interactions. In addition, you'll assist in moving vehicles within the service drive and ensure the care, security, and transport of customer and company vehicles. This role also involves picking up and delivering customers' vehicles for service appointments and providing support during vehicle entry, exit, and loading. Flexibility to handle additional tasks assigned by managers is essential.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Handle customer communication via phone, email, and in-person interactions.
  • Assist in moving vehicles within the service drive and between dealership and vendor premises.
  • Ensure the care, security, and transport of customer and company vehicles.
  • Pick up and deliver customers' vehicles for service appointments to customers during vehicle entry, exit, and loading.
  • Maintain organized vehicle and customer parking, which contributes to dealership cleanliness.
  • Perform additional tasks as assigned by management.

Essential Functions:

  • Greet each customer in a prompt, courteous manner, and let customers who are waiting in line know that they will be serviced soon
  • Communicate with service customers to determine the nature of the mechanical problems
  • Secure agreement from customers before repairs; cover cost estimate; and approximate time when vehicle's work will be completed
  • Obtain customer and vehicle data
  • Schedule appointments using dealership-approved forms
  • Advise customers on the care of their cars and the value of maintaining their vehicles by the manufacturer's specifications, using maintenance menus
  • Communicate the need for additional work when needed; explain the details to the customer, including the extra cost and time consideration, and docappropriatelyoperly on the repair order
  • Follow up on the progress of each repair order during the day, contact customers by telephone regarding changes in the estimate or time promised
  • Handle telephone inquiries regarding work in process and appointments and return phone messages promptly
  • Interpret warranty information and policies for customers
  • Advise customers of parts ordered and make an appointment to have them installed before the customer leaves
  • Assist the service manager as necessary
  • Adheres to all company policies, procedures, and safety standards

Requirements:

  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • Prior experience in the automotive industry (1 years of dealership experience)
  • Must possess a valid driver's license and a favorable motor vehicle record
  • Able to pass a pre-employment background check and drug screen for illegal substances
  • Authorized to work in the United States
