Director, Clinical Operations (Remote)

As the Director of Clinical Operations, you will play a pivotal role in expanding our Client’s network of licensed nutritionists and enhancing their clinical care delivery system. You will significantly impact the growth of our Client’s clinical practice. They are looking for a strategic expert adept at complex problem-solving and effective communication, capable of managing details through project management, modeling, and reporting

This position reports to the VP of Finance and collaborates closely with the Clinical team and various departments within the organization to boost operational efficiencies, enabling the Clinical team to concentrate on patient care.

Our Client provides an integrated clinical nutrition solution that enhances engagement, outcomes, and cost reduction across populations through a nutritional therapy platform. They boast a large network of licensed nutritionists and a curated food market with national and local vendors, empowering individuals and families to make informed, sustainable choices that improve health outcomes and quality of life.

What You’ll Do:

  • Optimize clinical provider staffing forecasting and processes, including managing W2 and 1099 workforces and developing an onboarding guide.
  • Oversee core operational processes such as clinical capacity planning, licensing, credentialing, billing, and clinical operational KPIs.
  • Manage the credentialing and FFS billing team members and vendors.
  • Collaborate with the Clinical team to develop frameworks for clinical success and quality management, including clinician scorecards and key operational metrics.
  • Lead the recommendation, development, planning, and implementation of clinical tools and support the Product team in enhancing clinical efficiency and quality.
  • Implement and manage a fluid system for eligibility checks and patient communications regarding insurance coverage.
  • Develop, manage, and communicate a systematic understanding of insurance coverage and benefit design by plan/market.
  • Establish and maintain processes for communication and resolution with health plans regarding referrals, authorizations, eligibility, claims, etc.
  • Create a process to collect patient financial responsibilities.
  • Identify new ways to optimize revenue growth.
  • Lead strategic cross-functional planning sessions for clinical care.

About You

  • 6-8 years of extensive operational experience, including creating, scaling, and running process improvements within a high-growth, fast-paced, high-performing telehealth business.
  • Expertise in operational building and management of end-to-end execution projects/programs across multiple cross-functional partners.
  • Proven experience leading and managing teams, both in cross-functional stakeholder leadership and direct people management.
  • Strong executive communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively to a variety of audiences in small and large group settings.
  • Ability to set and maintain high standards of performance, hold people accountable for achieving deliverable metrics, encourage team participation, and motivate others through a shared vision.
  • Advanced data-analysis skills with the ability to communicate technical information to non-technical audiences.
  • Experience working autonomously in an asynchronous, fast-paced remote environment with minimal supervision.
  • Experience in provider-sensitive roles that require time-sensitive, thoughtful responses.
  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to exercise strong initiative, sound judgment, discretion, and decision-making skills.
  • Effective at navigating ambiguity and leading through change, excited by a start-up environment, and bringing order to the amorphous.
  • Proficient in Excel, Google Workspace, and Slack.
  • Knowledge of food and current nutrition trends as well as best practices in nutrition care is a plus.
  • Resides in the United States of America.

Compensation and Benefits

  • The salary range for this role is $165,000-185,000/year plus equity.
