Newkirk Logistics is Hiring a Dispatch Scheduler Near Houston, TX
Overview:
Newkirk Logistics is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Dispatch Scheduler to join our team. You will play a crucial role in coordinating and managing the transportation of our goods and services. Your professional communication skills and ability to analyze data will ensure efficient transportation planning and execution. Responsibilities:
- Prioritize, receive and respond to internal and external emails
- Coordinate and analyze pick-ups and deliveries in real time to avoid lateness
- Maintain accurate records of dispatch activities to track, collect and submit paid-on-delivery (POD) and bill-of-lading (BOL) invoices.
- Communicate effectively with drivers, providing clear instructions and addressing any issues or concerns that arise
- Meet monthly goals to collaborate with freight agents and utilize broker boards to schedule and book loads
- Use Motive-KeepTruckin', TextUs and other software to maintain communications and to list relevant information for day-to-day operations
Requirements:
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Strong analytical abilities to assess transportation data and make informed decisions
- Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook and computer systems
- Knowledge of phone etiquette for effective communication with drivers and customers
- Familiarity with driver tracking methods or similar transportation management systems
- Solid Transportation, 3PL (Third Party Logistics) and load brokering experience
- Understanding of GPS technology for tracking vehicles and providing real-time updates
Schedule: Monday through Friday (time frame to be determined) with every other Saturday 8A to 12P. Required.
