Transforming Lives, Inc is seeking two highly qualified professionals to manage/lead our alternative education program in Dorchester County, Maryland, beginning in the 24/25 school year. These individuals will supervise a cadre of education professionals that includes classroom teachers, classroom assistants, behavior interventionists, and counselors/clinicians. The program will serve up to 24 elementary school students and 24 middle school students. We are looking for one leader for the elementary program, and another the middle school program.

SUMMARY
The Program Directors are responsible for all operations and outcomes, and have general oversight of the entire program. They lead the way by creating a blue print of success for all stakeholders and ensure that it gets communicated openly and followed with fidelity. With student learning at its core, the Dorchester County alternative program aims to ensure that students needing additional therapeutic and restorative supports receive individualized, tailored services that enable them to access the curriculum and learn at grade level and beyond.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Play a leading role in outlining the vision and direction of the program.
  • Provide general oversight of all operations, ensuring fidelity to design and quality expectations.
  • Coordinates and sometimes provides training to staff.
  • Interfaces with all stakeholders – students, staff, families, community, etc. – to promote buy-in, gather feedback, and strengthen relationships.
  • Participates in all assigned administrative, supervisory, staff and team meetings; participates in scheduled in-service training and staff development activities.
  • Participates in developing and monitoring programs, policies, procedures and practices in keeping with TLI and community standards, as well as with Contract and Licensure requirements.
  • Recruits, screens, trains, supervises, and evaluates staff in conjunction with DCPS.
  • Provides direct services to students and families as appropriate or assigned.

OTHER DUTIES

  • Collects and utilizes student and staff performance data to track progress and make necessary pivots / course corrections.
  • Helps investigate and mediate complaints and/or concerns between staff and student/families, staff and referring agents, and collateral sources.
  • Help create and monitor a budget plan for the growth and refinement of the program’s capacity.

WORK ENVIRONMENT
· The DCPS leaders will primarily work in one area (school/classroom), but will have responsibilities to interface with partnering public schools within the district.

TRAVEL
· This position requires occasional travel between schools and programs.

REQUIRED EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
· Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership, Clinical Psychology, Social Work, or related field.
· Experience in one or more of the following, or a related field: clinical psychology; school leadership; social work; professional development/training for educators; department head; school leader (e.g., principal or assistant principal).

PREFERRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
· Doctorate degree

Pay: $75,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
