Job Summary:
We are seeking a compassionate Certified Peer Specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate will provide support and guidance to individuals facing mental health and substance abuse challenges by sharing their own lived experiences and knowledge.
Duties:
- Engage with clients in a supportive and empathetic manner
- Utilize motivational interviewing techniques to encourage positive behavior change
- Assist individuals in setting and achieving personal recovery goals
- Provide peer support services, including mentoring and advocacy
- Collaborate with mental health professionals to develop comprehensive care plans
- Assist Certified Substance Abuse Counselor with group sessions focusing on coping skills, self-care, and wellness strategies
Skills:
- Possess a Certified Peer Specialist certification
- Experience in behavioral health, social work, or related field
- Knowledge of crisis intervention and management techniques
- Familiarity with addiction counseling principles
- Ability to navigate mental health systems effectively
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Empathetic and non-judgmental approach towards clients
