Job Summary: We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized individual to join our team as an Insurance Coordinator. The Insurance Coordinator will be responsible for verifying insurance coverage, coding medical records, and ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of medical terminology, insurance verification processes, and medical coding. Duties: - Verify insurance coverage for patients and ensure accuracy of information - Review and process insurance claims, including coding medical records using ICD-9 and ICD-10 codes - Communicate with insurance companies to resolve any issues or discrepancies - Maintain patient records and ensure confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA regulations - Collaborate with healthcare providers to obtain necessary documentation for insurance claims - Assist patients with insurance-related inquiries and provide guidance on coverage options - Stay updated on changes in insurance policies, managed care plans, and billing procedures - Work closely with the office team to ensure efficient billing and reimbursement processes Skills: - Proficient in medical terminology and coding systems (ICD-9, ICD-10) - Strong knowledge of insurance verification processes and managed care plans - Familiarity with HIPAA regulations and maintaining patient confidentiality - Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and record keeping - Effective communication skills, both written and verbal - Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment - Proficient in using office software applications (e.g., Microsoft Office) We offer competitive compensation based on experience.
