General Summary:

The Assistant Planner supports the Town Planner and expands the capacity of the Planning Department to review projects and follow through with Town initiatives. This is a full-time (35 hrs/wk) benefits-eligible position.

Essential Job Functions:

• Attend one-two evening meetings a week.
• Provide support to the Zoning Board of Appeals, the Design Review Committee, the Historical Commission and potentially other Boards and Committees as applicable.
• Write grants.
• Provide support for the Town Manager’s Economic Development initiatives.
• Provide support to the Municipal Affordable Housing Trust Board.
• Assist with the implementation of the Master Plan and the Housing Production Plan.
• Review Chapter 40B developments applications.
• Conduct research into relevant zoning issues, gathers and analyzes data, and prepares studies and policy actions related to current Town issues, regulations, and by-laws.
• Interact with the public on a regular basis.
