Seeking a general custodian to be part of a dedicated custodial department responsible for the care of the building and its grounds

Duties include following a regular schedule of floor care, trash removal, bathroom sanitizing, general cleaning activities and meeting room set-up and breakdown. Responsible for snow and ice removal as well as for the cleanup of debris and litter outside the building. Assists in loading and offloading library materials from daily regional deliveries, and emptying outside book drops. Identifies and performs minor maintenance repairs to doors, windows, shades, furniture and cleaning equipment.

Physical Requirements

This position requires the ability to walk, stand, bend, lift up to 50 pounds and push up to 170 pounds on book carts. Good vision and hearing are required. See complete job description for a detailed list of requirements.

Hours

10 hours per week plus Sunday and holiday rotations. Ability to cover occasional gaps in weekday schedule is essential.

Wages

Full salary range $27.30 - $31.86 per hour.

Qualifications and Experience

High school diploma or GED required. Must pass custodial written exam.
