Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Wound Care Nurse to join our healthcare team. As a Wound Care Nurse, you will be responsible for providing specialized care and treatment to patients with acute or chronic wounds. Your expertise in wound management and your commitment to patient care will play a vital role in promoting healing and preventing complications.
Duties:
- Assessing patients' wounds and developing individualized care plans
- Cleansing and dressing wounds using sterile techniques
- Monitoring wound healing progress and documenting changes
- Administering medications and treatments as prescribed
- Collaborating with interdisciplinary healthcare team members to coordinate patient care
- Educating patients and their families on wound care techniques and prevention strategies
- Providing emotional support to patients during the healing process
- Adhering to infection control protocols, including proper disposal of contaminated materials
- Maintaining accurate and up-to-date patient records
Qualifications:
- Valid nursing license in [state]
- Proven experience as a Wound Care Nurse or similar role
- In-depth knowledge of wound care techniques, including sterile processing and dressing application
- Familiarity with acute care settings and procedures such as gastric lavage
