The Champlain Island Unified Union School District is seeking a physical education teacher for the 2024-2025 school year and beyond. This position will act as a member of a team of educators and other support personnel within the CIUUSD. In this position, you will prepare and implement engaging lesson plans connected to grade level learning targets.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Teaches general physical education and health to PK-6th grade students.
Utilizes repertoire of all types of games and activities that are appropriate for the ages and skill levels of students. Assist with organizing student events for school and community in collaboration with other schools including events such as the rowing regatta and field day. Differentiate PE/health curriculum to meet the needs of the individual student and the student body. Provides adaptive PE either within the normal PE class or at alternative times to meet the needs of all learners Plans a balanced PE/health program, and organizes daily class time so that preparation, practice and instruction can be accomplished within the allotted time.
Establishes and maintains standards of student behavior to provide an orderly, productive environment. Evaluates each students growth and contribution to the performance of the group that allows everyone to contribute. Communicates clearly with parents and school faculty/staff on the progress of individual students. Maintains care/responsibility for school-owned equipment and material to prevent loss or abuse.
Cooperation with administration and staff in providing programs for school assemblies, open house, parent meetings and seasonal programs as needed. Other duties as assigned
