Summary
Under the direction of the IT Specialist II: Maintain system at the highest functionality, prepare user hardware for deployment, implement system and document updates and patches to keep all security and software up to date for all hardware and software. Trouble shoot all user issues efficiently and document all issues. You will also “train” users of the systems to make appropriate and safe usage of the IT infrastructure and cybersecurity. Manage user access for all software and email system.
This position is expected to grow with the IT area and expand with the challenges, accepting additional responsibilities.
Responsibilities
· Troubleshooting support for all IT related issues
· Assigning email addresses and updating company directory with all pertinent data such as location, position, and Servpro phone number
· Set up workstations with computers and necessary peripheral devices (routers, printers etc.)
· Check computer hardware (HDD, mouses, keyboards etc.) to ensure functionality
· Install and configure appropriate software and functions according to specifications
· Develop and maintain local networks in ways that optimize performance
· Ensure security and privacy of networks and computer systems
· Provide orientation, training, and guidance to users on how to operate new software and computer equipment
· Organize and schedule upgrades and maintenance without deterring others from completing their work
· Maintain records/logs of equipment assignments, returns, repairs and fixes and maintenance schedule
· Identify computer or network equipment shortages and place orders
· Assign access to the different software to all new hires
· Submit suggestions on improving use of Technology for training, improving processes, utilizing technology to our advantage, etc
· All other duties as assigned
Requirements
· Proven experience as IT Technician or relevant position
· Must have great troubleshooting abilities and attention to detail.
· Excellent diagnostic and problem solving skills
· Excellent communication ability
· Outstanding organizational and time-management skills
· In depth understanding of diverse computer systems and networks
· Good knowledge of internet security and data privacy principles
· Degree in Computer Science, engineering or relevant field or 2 year experience as an IT specialist
· Availability to travel to all locations as needed
