ILLUSTRATIVE EXAMPLES OF WORK AND ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONSTo perform comprehensive, educationally relevant hearing evaluations and make recommendations to enhance communication access and learningTo perform follow-up comprehensive audiological evaluations.To make appropriate referrals for further audiological, communication, educational, psychological, or medical assessment.To assess or make appropriate referrals for central auditory function.Other duties, as requested by the Director.KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS: A thorough knowledge of pediatric audiology and the demonstrated ability to communicate the special needs of children with hearing loss in a variety of environments.Experience performing age-appropriate behavioral audiometry on the pediatric populationExperience performing natural sleep auditory brainstem response testing (ABR) preferred.Experience performing Auditory Processing Disorder (APD) testing preferred. Ability to communicate in American Sign Language or willingness to learn. GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIESTo provide diagnostic audiological services to children referred to the state audiology center at the Rhode Island School for the Deaf.SUPERVISION RECEIVEDWorks under the supervision of the Director with latitude to exercise independent professional judgment. Work is subject to review on a periodic basis or upon completion for results achieved and for adherence to professional standards and conduct.SUPERVISION EXERCISEDNone.
