We invite highly skilled, dedicated professionals to join our team of therapists, educators, nurses, counselors and administrative support. We have a current opportunity for a part time, Spanish Language Kaleidoscope Play and Learn Group Facilitator.
Position SummaryInfant Mental Health Specialist Location: Everett Schedule: 0.1FTE (4hrs per week) Salary: $25.00/hr The Kaleidoscope Play and Learn (KPL) Group Facilitator – Spanish Language – is responsible for recruiting participants (families with children under 5), preparing space and resources, following the KPL curriculum, and providing weekly play groups according to the approach of KPL. The goal of Kaleidoscope Play & Learn program is to support family, friend and neighbor caregivers and parents in preparing the young children in their care for success in school and life through quality early childhood experiences and by providing them with information, resources, support, and connections to promote optimal development of the children in their care. This is accomplished by providing a developmentally appropriate and stimulating environment; providing developmentally appropriate activities; and perform in the moment parent coaching to enhance parenting skills. Additionally, the facilitator provides information about early childhood development, resources in the community, and supports such as developmental screening of children.
Required Qualifications
  • Be bilingual or speak Spanish fluently.
  • 1 years of experience working with young children in a paid or volunteer capacity.
  • Knowledge of early childhood development, ability to relate well with parents, toddlers and preschoolers, and have good communication and organizational skills.
  • Familiarity or experience with maintaining records of participation and attendance.
  • Complete KPL and training hours necessary to obtain and maintain KPL facilitator status.
  • Demonstrates ability to establish and hold weekly KPL play groups dependably.
  • Demonstrates strong interpersonal skills, including written and verbal communication skills.
  • Provides quality work; demonstrates accuracy and thoroughness; looks for ways to improve and promote quality; applies feedback to improve performance; monitors own work to ensure quality.
  • Preference given to applicants who are bicultural.
  • Preference given to applicants who are from or are well established in the Casino Road community.
  • Preference given to applicants who possess a valid WA state driver’s license, have state required minimum automobile insurance, and be able to use own vehicle on the job.
  • Requires knowledge of local and county-wide resources to support young children and families.
Duties
  • Functions as main point of contact for families whose home language is Spanish and who attend KPL groups.
  • Supports families in accessing services and resources.
  • Coaches families in the groups, building their capacity to understand and meet their child’s needs.
  • Establishes, develops, maintains and updates participant information and attendance to report monthly.
  • Works closely with other ChildStrive KPL Facilitators to develop and implement KPL play groups.
The ideal candidate for this position is a person with deep commitment to racial equity, as well as lived experience of intersectionality, and the ways in which the systems privilege some groups over others. The candidate should have self-reflective ability, cultural humility, flexibility, and be open to utilizing restorative practices.

ECEAP (Early Childhood Education and Assistance Program) is a high quality preschool and family development program for underserved families in partnership with Snohomish County and the State of Washington.
