Wirthwein Fountain Inn is Hiring a Shipping / Receiving Associate Near Fountain, SC
Wirthwein Fountain Inn, LLC. seeks additional Shipping/Receiving associates for its facility in Fountain Inn, SC to join our team. This position will report to the Warehouse Supervisor.
Responsibilities:
- Must have a good working knowledge of part numbers and part usage and understand application for use
- Compares identifying information and counts, weighs, or measures items of incoming and outgoing shipments to verify information against bills of lading, invoices, orders or other records
- Proper operation of equipment to safety and productivity requirements, including but not limited to lift truck or hand trucks to convey, move or hoist materials to proper areas. Operation of stretch wraps machine and banders
- Maintains work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition and follows prescribed safety regulations
- Occasionally required to make pick-ups from suppliers and deliveries to them for parts and raw materials using the company vehicle
- Maintains inventory of shipping materials and supplies and forwards requisitions for supplies to department supervisor as needed
- Regularly required to sit or stand and move about the facility
- Exposure to shop elements such as noise, dust, fumes and odors
Receiving incoming products and materials
- Confirmation of certificate of conformance and reconciliation of receiving/purchase documentation.
- Unpacks, examines and routes incoming shipments, rejects damaged items, records shortages and corresponds with shipper to rectify damages and shortages. Will receive and process all defective parts returned for replacement or credit (RMA).
- Notification and/or delivery of incoming product to end user.
- Each receipt must have documentation (packing slip, etc.) to support computer system entries.
- Requires completion of daily receiving entries in computer system.
- Receivers distributed to purchasing office for filing
- Maintains raw material and critical supply inventories.
- Requires maintenance and cleaning of inventory area, inventory organization and racking, inventory cycle counting and reporting, monthly inventory accounting.
Sending outbound shipments
- Requires preparation of sequentially numbered paperwork in SAP system, management of packaging materials inventories, packaging of product to be shipped and arrangement of transportation services.
- Determines method and mode of shipment to customer requirements; prepares and expedites shipments.
- UPS/FEDX software to be used effectively and understood for summary reporting on request
- General housekeeping, maintenance and organization of the dock and inventory areas.
- Requires hands on cleaning and maintenance along with organization and interpersonal skills to coordinate with other departments and outside waste disposal vendor
- Documentation distribution
- Requires transfer of all original documents to Purchasing department
Required Education and Experience
- High School diploma or GED equivalent
- One year in manufacturing environment
- Stand up & Sit down forklift experience
- Shipping & Receiving experience
- Knowledge of Excel (Microsoft Office)
- Communication Skills
Preferred Education and Experience
- SAP Knowledge
- Problem Solving Skills
- Knowledge of 5 S
