- This position is responsible for the technical expert for injection molding machines, auxiliary and processing equipment.
- Document set-up instructions, processes, makes adjustments to processes when necessary to maintain product quality and efficiency standards and documents change made to the process for evidence.
- Set up injection molding presses, molds and automation processes.
- Minimize equipment downtime.
- Identify defects and make adjustments.
- Track process using statistical methods and make necessary adjustments or changes and document.
- Work with Quality department to ensure process changes or improvements meet customer requirements.
- Trouble shoot problems on the injection molding machines.
- Good understanding of injection molding principles.
- Good understanding of plant and environmental safety.
- Good understanding of statistical methods of monitoring processes and product quality.
- Good understanding of hydraulic and pneumatic components.
- Able to work flexible hours.
- Technical knowledge of resistance welding, injection molding processes and industrial controls.
- Strong mechanical and/or electrical skills.
- High School diploma or GED equivalent.
- One year in manufacturing environment.
- Strong problem solving skills.
- Able to follow written and verbal instructions, manage workload and schedules to complete assignments.
- Experience with production of technical plastic parts.
- Experience with fully automated and robot sized injection molding machines and peripheral equipment, Wittman robots and dryers and Engel molding machines.
- Experience with calipers, height gage, small hand and power tools, and computers.
- Over two years of experience with specialized injection molding equipment, robotic and all peripheral equipment for the production of plastic parts for the automotive business.
