Job Summary
The Pantry Aide will assist the Community Services Manager with tasks pertaining to the food pantry, community kitchen, personal needs program, and the clothing closet.

Role and Responsibilities
Assist in all tasks related to the food pantry, including but not limited to: scheduling food pantry appointments, leading clients through the pantry, unloading inventory from CRCC vehicles, reviewing inventory, stocking shelves, organizing the pantry, and helping to maintain a clean and safe environment
Assist in all tasks related to the personal needs program, including but not limited to assisting clients with walk-in personal needs appointments, assembling personal-needs kits, stocking shelves, and organizing inventory
Assist in all tasks related to the clothing closet, including but not limited to: explaining the process and rules, showing clients where sizes are located, as well as monitoring and organizing inventory
Assist in all tasks related to the Community Kitchen, including but not limited to: serving meals, washing dishes, prepping meals and cleaning the cafeteria.
Assist in processing food pantry and personal needs program paperwork
Drive company vehicle to pick up clothing, personal needs and food items
Any additional reasonable request deemed necessary by management
Qualifications and Education Requirements
Education and Experience:
“People person” willing to serve community members in vulnerable situations, including but not limited to individuals who are homeless, refugees, or immigrants
Motivated self-starter with a high level of integrity
Proficient in Google Docs, Microsoft Word, and Excel
Accurate and detail-oriented with strong organizational skills
Registration, licenses, certifications or special training:
Valid Michigan Driver’s License with a clean driving record
Preferably bilingual in Spanish, Arabic, French, and/or Swahili
Physical Demands:
Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs
Ability to stand and/or walk up to 8 hours per shift.
Work involves talking, stooping, squatting, twisting, climbing, kneeling, hearing, using hands to handle, feel or operate objects, tools, or controls and reach with hands and arms.
Vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision and the ability to adjust focus.
Ability to sit and use computer workstation, including keyboard and visual display terminal for extended periods of time.
Noise in the work environment is usually moderately quiet but can be very loud at times.
Driving as needed throughout the day.
