JOB FUNCTIONS

Essential job functions:

  • Learn, practice, and adhere to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMPs) established for the Encapsulation Department
  • Learn, practice, and adhere to all Safety and Quality policies and procedures
  • Learn, practice, and adhere to all Encapsulation Department policies and procedures
  • Learn to set-up, operate, adjust, teardown, and clean/sanitize encapsulation machine per established SOP and safety guidelines
  • Perform visual checks of in-process and finished encapsulated products
  • Assist with assigned tasks in other encapsulation rooms and inspection, as needed
  • Monitor machines or equipment to make sure they are operating properly
  • Properly complete and maintain all required logs and paperwork associated within the Encapsulation Department
  • Learn and understand all lot numbers, part numbers, and product descriptions as they relate to the component sheet
  • Learn and practice Lean Manufacturing to improve efficiency and eliminate waste
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe working environment to ensure efficiency, employee safety, and product integrity
  • Must be cross-trained in all other Tech 1 positions in the Manufacturing Department (i.e.: Milling and Blending, Packaging, and Pharmacy)
  • Daily ring count required per ring size:

Before 90 days After 90 days

4s - 120 per day 4s - 150 per day

1s - 130 per day 1s - 170 per day

  • Demonstrate good judgment by reacting to unsafe acts or conditions by making them safe or reporting them to those who can correct them
  • Perform assigned tasks while wearing personal protective equipment (PPE), as required
  • Must maintain confidentiality at all times
  • Work in other areas, as needed
  • Perform all other duties as assigned
  • Regular and reliable attendance

QUALIFICATIONS

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

Education:

High school diploma or GED

Experience:

0 - 2 years work experience preferably in a manufacturing facility

Skills & abilities:

  • Read, write, speak, and comprehend English
  • Comprehend basic math: addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, weights and measures, and efficient use of a calculator
  • Ability to communicate both written and orally within the organization
  • Basic knowledge of vitamin supplements
  • Ability to give positive suggestions to improve operations in the work center
  • Team Oriented - being helpful, respectful, approachable, building strong working relationships and a positive work environment, is responsible, honest, loyal, interacts with others tactfully, resolves conflicts appropriately and adapts to change
  • Ability to manage time efficiently
  • Ability to work well under changing demands
  • Follow verbal and written instructions
  • Must have good work ethics, be highly motivated, and be a hands-on problem solver
  • Excellent mechanical aptitude
  • Ability to detect, recognize, and judge discrepancies
  • Requires accuracy, reliability, and attention to quality
  • Successfully completes and attains passing score of the entry level test

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • None

Work Environment:

  • Requires ability to work in an environment that contains fumes, dust, odors, low level noise, and temperature and ventilation variations while wearing any appropriate safety and/or protective clean room apparel required (i.e.: safety glasses, shoe covers, gloves, hair net, face mask or respirator, and lab coat)

Physical Demands:

  • Vision, hearing, and speaking to meet performance standards
  • Ability to stand and/or walk for long periods, push, pull, lift, climb, bend, stoop, squat, and use manual dexterity to work with the following tools: scoops, screens, scales, drum dollies, mops, brooms, and portable stairs
  • Ability to safely lift up to 50 pounds on a frequent basis and move heavier weights using proper equipment
  • Must use visual and auditory abilities while machines are operating to detect problems and complications

BENEFITS

Schedule: Monday-Thursday 3:00PM-11:30PM, Friday 11:00AM-7:30PM

Pay: $26.23/HR
