Tender Care is Hiring a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) Near Morris, NJ

Required Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in the relevant subject is required (i.e, Applied Behavior Analysis, Psychology, etc.)
  • BCBA certification must be current and active
  • Must have a driver’s license valid in the state of New Jersey
  • One year of experience in the field of behavior analysis, including knowledge of people with developmental disabilities
  • Awareness of specific state laws and regulations governing practice andcontinually updates the knowledge base.
  • Extensive expertise in behavioral evaluation and behavior plan development for individuals with disabilities
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills with people with disabilities, their families, coworkers, supervisors, funding sources, and other social service agency staff
  • Knowledge of a multitude of computer programs (e.g., MS Office, ICARE System)
  • Compliance with Tender Care and the Department of Human Services is required.
  • Must submit: mandatory pre-hire background checks, in line with DDD NJ's requirements.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Ph.D. in Applied Behavior Analysis or a related field
  • Certification as a Board Certified Behavior Analyst - Doctoral
  • Minimum of two to five years of experience supervising and providing behavior analysis services to individuals with developmental disabilities in residential or day treatment settings

Expectation for all Employees:

Maintaining positive working relationships with clients, contract organizations, outside parties, staff from other social service providers, families, and other stakeholders is expected of agency employees. Staff employees must also act professionally, use sound judgment, have problem-solving abilities, and serve as liaisons to other agency programs.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Evaluation of problematic behavior and development of behavior intervention strategies for individuals on a caseload. This can involve duties that span across program sites (i.e, residential, day rehabilitation, etc.)
  • Oversee the behavior specialist's day-to-day tasks, such as creating behavior plans, conducting assessments as necessary (such as preference evaluations, functional behavior assessments, etc.), gathering data, and performing other tasks as required.
  • Ensure that instructional strategies and behavior intervention plans are in line with solutions that are backed by best practices and empirical treatment.
  • Provision of staff training as related to behavior plan implementation and data collection for individuals on the assigned caseload. This will include staff training across program sites as needed.
  • Presenting assigned cases to the behavior management and human rights committees as needed.
  • Ensure that teaching and direct care staff are adhering to current behavior management policies and procedures.
  • Promote and enforce participation that is active and useful across all programs.
  • Maintain active membership in participant clinical teams for individuals on the assigned caseload.
  • Maintain clinical oversight and support of pharmacological interventions for participants on the assigned caseload.
  • Maintain necessary paperwork for behavior intervention planning and other clinical needs for participants on the assigned caseload.
  • Lead family service crisis team cases as assigned by supervisor.

Physical Requirements: Over an eight-hour day, mobility and the capacity to bend and reach will be required as needed. Capable of lifting at least 25 pounds, standing or working for 6 to 8 hours per shift, working 2-3 hours per sitting session, and driving a corporate van for 1–4 hours per session. Must possess adequate auditory and visual acuity to assess and care for a client's needs. Also, must demonstrate fine motor skills and correct and legible writing for reports, daily correspondence, and oral or written presentations.

If the accommodation cannot be made because it would cause the employer undue hardship such persons may not be eligible.

Working Conditions:

Position is based in a number of different places throughout New Jersey. The incumbent must have access to dependable transportation. Depending on program needs, work hours may need to be flexible.
