Job Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Personal Assistant to provide support and assistance to an individual who has autism. His functioning level is moderate, He is able to take care of his own basic self care, chores, etc. He has severe apraxia and is very challenging to understand so he uses a communication device, a few signs, but also spells words to be understood. He has amazing spelling skills and has an amazing memory. He is very cooperative and sweet. He has no behavioral issues. We are looking for someone to work weekends (4 hours on Saturday and 4 hours on Sunday) just to take him out to do fun things. - test drive a car, go bowling, etc. We are looking for someone who is trustworthy and most importantly kind.
Skills:
- Experience in Autism care or patient care is highly desirable
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively with clients, families, and healthcare professionals
- Knowledge of home care or assisted living regulations and best practices
- Ability to provide emotional support and empathy to clients in challenging situations
- Proficient in basic housekeeping tasks, including cleaning and organizing
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
This is a paid position that offers competitive compensation. The exact pay rate will be discussed during the interview process.
