FLSA Status: Exempt

Employee Status: Full-Time, Benefit Eligible

Days/Hours: Flexible; 40 hours per week 

Pay: Starting at $6,250/monthly

Reports to: Director – Marketing and Donor Recruitment

Location: Jenny Eller Donor Center - Fresno, CA

Job Summary:

The role of the Manager of Donor Education and Strategy is to set the overall strategic plan for donor strategy and education, including defined marketing and communication plans and tactics. Oversee and effectively manage Donor Outreach, Apheresis Team and Community Education team to ensure departmental goals are achieved along with special projects assigned to the team. This role is responsible for leading the effort in putting forth plans and execution for generating increased traffic to donor centers and blood drives, and strategically revisiting and realigning all donor recruitment efforts for success. 

Essential Job Duties:

Team Management

  • Train & develop coordinators in three key areas of the donor recruitment efforts to ensure strategies are being executed. 
  • Oversee all personnel of recruitment department.

Donor Strategy 

  • Strategize and work with the Director – Marketing and Donor Recruitment to implement cultivation techniques and programs to increase donor acquisition, retention & engagement.
  • Develop programs intended to maximize both mobile and in center donor acquisition, retention, and frequency. 
  • Analyze historical, territory and donor behavior trends to forecast donor growth opportunities (i.e. utilize BCA analytical programs). 
  • Under the direction of the Director of Marketing and Donor Recruitment works to design and implement a strategic business plan that expands the Central California Blood Center’s donor base and ensures its strong presence in the community. 

Community Education

  • Develop strategy for territory growth, access, and education with community partners, including recruitment of donors and opposition management resulting in increased market share (i.e. accounts and donors). 
  • Develop and maintain relationship along with key partners (i.e. hospital and education partners) 
  • Develop and implement comprehensive branding, and marketing that focuses on key partners and community initiatives.
  • Create educational programs and materials to inform donors about the importance of blood donation, the donation process, and the impact of their contributions.
  • Collaborate with marketing and outreach teams to design and implement donor communication strategies, including email campaigns, marketing materials, and community/outreach events.
  •  Analyze donor data and trends to identify opportunities for growth and improvement in donor strategies and educational initiatives.
  • Conduct training sessions for staff and volunteers on effective donor communication, engagement techniques, and educational content delivery.
  •  Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of donor education programs and strategies, making data-driven recommendations for continuous improvement.

Requirements

Required Qualifications and Skills:  

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Communication, Marketing, English or related field or a comparable combination of formal education and work experience. 
  • Exceptional customer service skills. 
  • Ability to effectively supervise and plan for the timely and successful completion of short and long-term objectives. 
  • Ability to consistently meet established deadlines for deliverable or activities. 
  • Demonstrated leadership, organizational, reasoning, problem solving and analytical skills. 
  • Highly developed interpersonal skills and ability to work collaboratively with a wide range of individuals. 
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills. 
  • Strong organizational skills: ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines. 
  • Computer skills necessary to perform job functions. 
  • Ability to travel to other facility sites and work varying days, shifts and hours.
  • Be flexible in the schedule of hours worked, including overtime, scheduled weekends, holidays, and rotating shifts when necessary. 
  • Attendance is an essential function of this position.
  • Must comply with CCBC’s policies and procedures.
  • Must consistently demonstrate CCBC’s organizational values of CARE (Communication, Accountability, Respect and Engagement)

Preferred Qualifications and Skills:

  • At least 2 years of supervisory experience. 
  • Master’s degree in business administration or a related field.
