Description

SUMMARY

The Plate Saw Material Handler moves freight, stock, or other materials to and from storage or production areas and staging area. Operate and position mobile material handling equipment to provide support for production and fabrication. Follow work instructions or schedules to determine operations or procedures.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• Retrieve and return stock for extrusion saws.
• Locate material in our inventory system.
• Assist in maintaining inventory control.
• Operate the band saw.
• Deliver cut material to both shipping/receiving and fabrication department.
• Read customer order, work order, shipping order, or requisition to determine items to be moved, gathered, or distributed.
• Deliver Packages to the staging area and locate.
• Mark materials with identifying information.
• Mobile Equip PM’s.
• Scrap dumping.
• Operate forklift.
• Must be able to interact in-person with peers and management.
• Must be able to handle high stress situations.
• Maintain regular and predictable attendance.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS

BASIC EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

• At least 1 year of experience working in an industrial setting.

PREFERRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

• High School Diploma, G.E.D, or equivalent

SKILLS AND ABILITIES

• Knowledge of arithmetic.
• Must be able to be licensed to operate mobile equipment.
• Able to read and use a tape measure and caliper.
• Basic computer skills, to include working knowledge of ERP systems.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

• Remains in a stationary, standing, or walking position for the length of the shift.
• Lifts, moves, or positions materials weighing up to 50lbs.
• Must be able to enter and exit industrial equipment.
