Responsibilities:
- The coder will review and analyze claims submitted to payers to ensure their accuracy, completeness and compliance with ICD 10 and CPT guidelines and MUE and NCCE edits
- The coder will identify errors, discrepancies, or missing information within the claims documentation, working closely a with the revenue cycle staff to correct any issues and improve overall claims processing efficiency
- The person hired will be expected to stay current on CPT and ICD 10 professional coding updates and guidelines, and implement necessary adjustments to the claim scrubbing process
- Effective communication skills and a proactive approach are essential in this role to facilitate collaboration with other revenue cycle staff and uphold the highest standards of quality assurance in the claims processing workflow
- REQUIRED: Minimum of two (2) years’ experience working for dermatology practices
- CPC and/or CPC-A certification
- Working knowledge of an EMR system, preferably EMA
- Understanding of EOBs and MSNs
- Hybrid candidates must live in or around the Dallas/Ft Worth area
