Robeson Health Care Corporation is Hiring a QUALIFIED SUBSTANCE ABUSE PROFESSIONAL Near Lumberton, NC

GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Qualified Substance Abuse Professional (QSAP) position is one that works to provide and advanced level of assessment and evaluation to determine if the Work First client is in need of substance abuse treatment services. The position will work with an interagency team conducting gender sensitive substance abuse assessments on all Temporary Assistance to Needy Familities (TANF) recipients that have been identified as possibly in need of substance abuse services by Department of Social Services screening. The QSAP is responsible for jointly planning and coordinating a package of health and social services that is individualized to meet particular client needs. The QSAP will assist the client in obtaining resources through the substance abuse treatment and case management program to address the following nine life domains: life skills, finances, leisure, relationships, living arrangements, occupational/educational, health, internal resources, and community- based recovery support systems.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Conduct substance abuse screening and assessments

- Coordinate and oversee initial and ongoing services and activites.

-Work collaboratively with other resources to develop a preliminary treatment plan and implement appropriate to clients needs.

-Make contact with clients on a regular basis to further assess their needs and monitor progress.

-Maintain client record and medical record entries as deemed necessary and appropriate in accordance with standards set by local, state, and federal regulatory guidelines.

-Conduct outreach to non-compliant clients to redirect them back to services.

-Conduct home visits and arrange therapeutic family intervention according to need.

-Make phone contact to insure client compliance and further assess client needs.

-As deemed necessary, conduct other case management duties to include: client monitoring and reporting, teaching substance abuse risk reduction classes, and other education/prevention services as deemed necessary.

-Refer appropriate clients for substance abuse treatment, Community Support, or other human services agencies.

-Provide DSS Work First staff with professional consultation and training regarding their initial screening of Work First applicants for potential substance abuse problems.

-Work as part of an interagency team in the development of gender sensitive resources and programs in an innovative and creative effort to meet needs of Work First recipient.

-Execute other duties as assigned that are deemed appropriate for the position.

QUALIFICATIONS:
- Master's degree in a human services related field with documentation of at least one year of supervised experience in the profession of alcoholism and drug abuse counseling; or Bachelor's degree in human services related field with documentation of at least two years of supervised experience in the profession of alcoholism and drug abuse counseling.

-Maintain or work toward obtaining certification through NC Substance Abuse Professional Practice Board within two years of hire.

-Extensive, advanced, and in-depth knowledge of substance abuse, addiction process, pharmacology, and alcohol and drug withdrawal.

-In-depth knowledge of different therapeutic approaches, group dynamics, family dynamics, family therapy, and crisis interventions.

-In-depth knowledge of Alcoholics Anonymous, Al-Anon, Narcotics Anonymous, Cocaine Anonymous, other 12-step groups available in the community, and a working knowledge of other available community resources.

-Ability to screen and assess clients for appropriate levels of treatment, formulate clear goal-oriented treatment plans, and record appropriately in required medical records.

-Ability to develop and maintain effective clinical relationships with clients and effective rapport with families and others.

-Ability to evaluate clinical work of other substance abuse professionals and communicate feedback to those individuals.

-Possession of valid NC Driver's License.
