PVE is Hiring a Structural Drafter Near Pittsburgh, PA
We are looking for an experienced Structural Drafter in our Pittsburgh, PA office. This individual must be able to transform engineering sketches and designs into working documents using computer aided design.
Job SummaryAnalyzing the performance of a building as it relates to the structural elements, building envelope and surrounding site conditions related to the overall aspect of building construction. The Drafter/Designer is responsible for creating drawings, layouts and designs of various structures and foundations using basic design. Examine and design façade, roof, building construction and site elements related to their effect on the building’s overall performance. Utilize knowledge with design/analysis within related field (structural engineering).
Job Responsibilities
- Adhere to all Structures Group Accountabilities listed within the Appendix A.
- Prepare design/analysis specifications and calculations for active projects are accurate and updated on active projects.
- Analyze schematic layouts of structural framing by using applied software for the analysis, interpretation, and design of structural components.
- Ensure contractors adhere to the contract documents (field/office) and prepares summary documentation for presentation with results of investigations.
- Prepare technical reports, ensuring structure and language utilized is easily understood by client and grammatically correct.
- Assist and maintain project schedules, change orders and budgets.
- Perform other duties as needed and assigned.
- Experience and proficiency with AutoCAD and Revit Autodesk
- CAD certification from technical school or program
- 1-3 years of related CAD experience in the structural engineering and/or construction industries
- 0-3 years of Building Envelope assessment and/or design in support of various building projects and initiatives.
- Understanding of processes, compliance, and other design consulting and construction professionals.
