What We Need:

We are seeking a self-motivated and analytical individual to fill the role of Applications Manager within our Corporate IT department in Kent, OH! The Applications Manager’s role is to manage the design, development, and maintenance of the organizations applications systems. The Applications Manager is also responsible for planning and coordinating the processes required to support the applications and systems necessary for business operations. This position will work closely with management, business unit partners, outside consultants and other stakeholders to identify requirements and seek out opportunities to develop solutions to improve business processes and support critical business strategies.

Some responsibilities of this position include (but are not limited to):

  • Ensure that applications meet business requirements and systems goals, fulfill end-user requirements, and identify and resolve systems issues.
  • Review and analyze existing applications effectiveness and efficiency and then develop strategies for improving or leveraging these systems.
  • Research and make recommendations on software products and services in support of business requirements.
  • Oversee administration, maintenance, and support for applications, including recommendations and scheduling for fixes, patches, disaster recovery procedures.
  • Field incoming problem tickets from end users to resolve issues within the supported applications.
  • Communicate application problems and issues to key stakeholders, including management, development teams and end users.
  • Collaborate with analysts, designers, and system owners in the testing of new software programs and applications.
  • Ensure that any new software integration into company systems meets functional requirements, system compliance, and interface specifications.
  • Analyze documentation and technical specifications of any new application under deployment or consideration to determine its intended functionality.
  • Manage and provide direction for the application team in support of business operations.
  • Facilitates team and client meetings effectively. Holds regular status meetings with project team. Keeps project team well informed of changes within the organization and general corporate news.
  • Liaise with company’s software suppliers for prompt rectification of any problems or emergencies.
  • Compile and maintain inventory of company software assets and their corresponding contracts/agreements.
  • Develop, communicate, and provide training and documentation for end users.

Who We Are Looking For:

  • An individual who has a university degree in the field of computer science and/or four to six years equivalent work experience.
  • An individual who has broad knowledge and successful experience with enterprise applications integration, server and desktop operating systems, database administration and information systems design.
  • An individual who has experience in the design and deployment of internet, intranet, extranet and client/server architectures.
  • An individual who is able to communicate effectively with internal and external customers to identify needs and evaluate alternative business solutions. Must be able to effectively communicate relevant project information to superiors.
  • An individual who is able to deliver engaging, informative, well-organized presentations and resolves and/or escalates issues in a timely fashion.
  • An individual who challenges others to develop as leaders while serving as a role model and mentor, inspiring coworkers to attain goals and pursue excellence.
  • An individual who has proven analytical and problem-solving abilities with experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment. Motivates team to work together in the most efficient manner.
  • An individual who has strong interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills with an ability to present ideas/solutions effectively to all levels of the organization. Mitigates team conflict and communication problems.
  • An individual who is highly self-motivated and has keen attention to detail with ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment.
  • An individual who is able to travel domestically and internationally approximately 25% of the time.

Please note that we are seeking candidates who currently reside in the Northeast Ohio area. This position has a hybrid structure allowing the individual to work from home 1 to 2 days during the week while working in the Corporate office the remainder of the week. This position offers a flexible work schedule within 7:00am to 6:00pm Monday through Friday. Please note that weekend and evening hours may be required when necessary to be available to our colleagues located at our other global units.

The salary range for this position is $118,000 - $141,000 and includes a 10% annual bonus potential.
