Mercy Community Healthcare has a full time opening for a Risk Manager. The Risk Manager assists and maintains risk management and compliance programs designed to identify, eliminate, or reduce, and insure against potential risks to Mercy Community Healthcare.

What Is This Job All About?

  • Review and maintain in collaboration with other staff, all of the Mercy Community Healthcare Policies and Procedures as outlined in Policy Stat/Manual.
  • Review/monitor/train all appropriate staff in collaboration with operations staff, on Mercy's existing compliance policies and procedures to identify potential areas of compliance vulnerability and risk of illegal, unethical, or improper conduct.
  • Assist in identification of changes in applicable rules, regulations, standards, and related trends that are relevant to avoid or minimize identified risks to the organization within the organization. Administering and reporting of medical errors and patient grievances.
  • Collaborate often with the team(s) that monitor and ensure clinical quality, patient satisfaction and overall safety, including but not limited to the QI team, HR, Credentialing and Expanded Leadership Team.
  • Serves as designated staff member responsible for Claims Management. Assist in the proper reporting of compliance violations to enforcement agencies as appropriate and/or required.
  • Assist in the development and maintenance of internal audit/investigation and training program regarding regulatory compliance issues and other legal matters; including but not limited to annual risk assessment, vendor/contract audits, policy/process audits. Review, coordinate, and train staff regarding outcomes.
  • Conducts routine infection control assessments to mitigate or prevent risk in compliance with OSHA standards.
  • Other duties assigned by supervisor as required.

What We Need from You:

  • Bachelor's degree, or post graduate degree in lieu of related experience or training. Bachelor's degree in Nursing preferred.
  • Two to five years' experience in Risk Management, HIPAA compliance or Health Care Administration preferred. Post graduate degree will be considered in lieu of related experience.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills required.
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills required.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail abilities required
  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines required.
  • Above Average analytical and problem-solving skills required.
  • Excellent Microsoft Office skills required.
  • Above Average eCW EMR skills desired.
  • Basic compliance and risk management understanding in a medical setting desired.
