Position Summary:

As a Product Portfolio Manager – Stationary Solutions, you will be responsible for end-to-end product life-cycle management activities for mounted products and solutions that let workers comfortably use technology and computers in fixed locations. These solutions include monitor arms, desk converters, wall-mounts, along with related accessories, packaging, and warranty options.

As the Portfolio Manager, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining a comprehensive, cross-vertical knowledge of the business environment, that will focus on financial performance, market share objectives, contingency plans and resource requirements. This position will manage the overall profitability of the portfolio and collaborate with the vertical product managers, regional marketing leaders, and operational teams to drive improvement. You will partner with leaders in Marketing, R&D, Operations and Sales to troubleshoot issues or opportunities that arise both during development and after launch, with Ergotron’s customer satisfaction and brand reputation as guiding principles. You will lead incremental innovation and product line refreshes and inform product roadmaps and innovation priority decisions. You will be responsible for maintaining the health of the portfolio by leading regular SKU rationalization (end of life) assessments and building operational plans that support smooth end of life for customers, sales, and operations. A strong team player, this role will be critical to the strategic growth of Ergotron and the stationary product portfolio.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Analyze product performance, competitiveness, and trends in across verticals and regions and develop strategies that grow revenue and improve margins.
  • Coordinate with Sales, finance, and operations on product forecasts, volume outlooks, and pricing; to meet revenue and profitability goals.
  • Understand the customer and user ‘jobs to be done’ that the portfolio products support.
  • Promote the value proposition of product categories and specific products.
  • Drive improvement of profitability of the stationary solution portfolio.
  • Develop and maintain a comprehensive understanding of product capabilities and specifications, responsible for initiating and maintaining data within the Product Information Management system (PIM).
  • Identify and manage innovation opportunities and make recommendations to the product roadmap.
  • Identify project scope and definition requirements including financial benefits, ROI, and business case for incremental or product line refresh innovation projects.
  • Develop product expertise with emphasis on part numbers, configurations, and BOM’s.
  • Drive initiatives around business metric improvements, value add improvements, simplification of product offering, and inventory reduction.
  • Coordinate cross-functionally on product launches and product obsolescence/ transitions.
  • Develop an understanding of product’s fully burdened cost to leverage improvements on margin and profitability.
  • Clear communication to management on issues of concern.
  • Manage day to day oversight/guidance on warranty and service policy discussions, quality and customer related issues, continuation engineering/development needs.

Position Requirements (Knowledge and Experience):

  • B.A. / B.S. Business, Engineering, or Finance preferred
  • 3-5 years of experience in Product Management, Finance, Engineering, or Business Operations with an emphasis on hard goods and tangible technology products
  • Must be a strategic thought leader that can see the big picture, establish vision for the portfolio, articulate and drive a strong plan of execution
  • Must work well with all levels of internal management and staff, as well as external partners, to drive alignment and collaboration
  • Demonstrated ability to set and achieve strategic initiatives that specifically align with organizational goals in a fast paced and nimble environment
  • Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills including listening and presentation skills
  • Must have a passion for customer satisfaction and success
  • Strong business insight, agility and decision-making skills required
  • Strong Financial Acumen required
  • Experience working within a highly matrixed organization; global experience is a plus
  • Demonstrated business and financial acumen and using data analysis to inform decision-making
  • Must live/work within a commutable driving distance of the Eagan, MN facility
  • Must be willing to travel approximately 5-10% (some international)
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook). Oracle, PowerBI, and Salesforce experience preferred.
  • Must be able to perform the physical requirements of the job as described to you for the position.
