Compensation:
We offer our employees a competitive compensation and benefits package that reflects our organizational culture, mission, and core values. The salary range for this position is $65,000.00 to $73,000.00 and is commensurate with experience.

SOME (So Others Might Eat) is currently seeking a full-time Clinician for our Behavioral Health Services department at our Conway location, adjacent to the Benning Road Metro (blue line) in NE Washington, DC.

Position Description: The Clinician provides behavioral health assessment, short-term case management, treatment planning and interventions to clients of Behavioral Health Services.

Covid-19 Considerations: In alignment with DC Health, COVID-19 vaccinations and boosters are mandated for personnel working in SOME’s healthcare-designated programs, which currently include Medical, Dental, Population Health, Behavioral Health Services (BHS), Exodus House, Jordan House, Kirwan House, Keuhner Place, Leland Place, and Mary Claire House. Schedule: Monday through Friday 8:00 am - 4:30 pm minimum one day telework.

Qualifications

Required: Master's degree in Social Work or Counseling; or Certified Addictions Counselor DC license; 1-2 years of experience providing addiction treatment or mental health services; experience providing services to the homeless population.

Preferred: 3-5 years of experience providing addiction treatment or mental health services; experience providing services to the homeless population.

Required License/Certification: 1) LGSW/LCPC from the District of Columbia Department of Health OR Certified Addictions Counselor I or II (CAC I or II) ; CPR/First-Aid certificate

Expected Contributions:

• Assess immediate client needs on walk-in basis and make referrals for assistance
• Provide short-term treatment planning and integrated care coordination
• Provide patients with information on resources and make referrals to internal services and external providers
• Conduct intakes for new clients; including psychiatric diagnostic evaluations in accordance with licensure
• Assist clients with problem solving to overcome barriers to behavioral health goals and to make behavior changes
• Provide integrated behavioral health care for BHS walk-in clients
• Conduct risk assessments for walk-ins and patient referrals
• Establish therapeutic relationships with clients to engage them in services
• Provide crisis intervention and screening practices that are recovery-centered
• Provide brief, short-term solution focused interventions and evidence based treatment interventions
• Provide addiction counseling, mental health and/or supportive counseling in both individual and group formats
• Complete timely clinical documentation in electronic medical record

Reports to: Clinical Director

Physical Requirements: Must be able to lift up to 20 pounds. Requires looking at a computer screen for several hours a day. May be required to sit for long periods.
