Part-Time Instructor, Nail Technology provides instruction in manicuring theory; skin anatomy; nail growth, irregularities, and diseases; sterilization and sanitation; equipment and table maintenance; cuticle, blemish, and rough skin removal; nail filing, shaping, and polishing; cream application and extremity massage; nail sculpture and design art; product storage and use; customer service; laws and regulations; and business practices.
EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
Essential and other responsibilities and duties may include, but are not limited to the following: Essential Functions: Plan and participate in the instruction of classes for the program; prepare supplemental materials and tests; maintain accurate records of student attendance and performance.Prepare objectives, assignments, grading standards, attendance polices and course syllabus to be distributed at first class meeting; select text books; prepare, proctor and grade tests; prepare instructional materials and aids.Provide supervisor with objectives and course outlines for each class; begin and end each class on time; turn in reports, final grades and other forms on time; revise course content and objectives as required; administer student evaluations each term; develop new courses in field as required.Assist in the evaluation of activities and operations of assigned program; ensure that operations meet the goals and objectives of the college and the needs of the student population. Marginal Functions: Support college functions/cultural activities; assist in the placement of students.Perform other duties as assigned.This position description covers the most essential functions and duties associated with this position. SUPPLEMENTAL INFORMATION
Training: High School Diploma or equivalent required.North Carolina license in cosmetology or nail technology required. North Carolina instructor's license for either cosmetology or nail technology required. Experience: Minimum of two years of relevant work experience required. Teaching and/or training experience preferred.
