Whythis role is so Special…

Green Worldwide Shippingâis looking for an energetic, freight forwarder to join their growing PHX team as the Branch Operations Manager (BOM). The BOM will be responsible for managing the overall operations process, work flow, process improvement and customer satisfaction as it pertains to all branch related activities, including staffing with assistance and approval of Branch Manager, continuous training, maintaining compliance to established procedures and customer relationships as required. In addition, responsibilities include mentoring operations staff in following “The Green Way”, assisting in negotiations with partners and vendors, P&L department oversight and related accounting and operations activities. Maintain departmental compliance with internal and/or external regulation(s).

Whatyou will be doing….

  • Work Closely with the Branch Manager in achieving Branch’s Vision and Budget.
  • Assist in employees’ overall training/cross training and mentoring of staff “The Green Way”.
  • Maintain the Green Culture throughout the operations team.
  • Coordinate monthly department meetings to set and verify goal attainment, to communicate department productivity and quality goals.
  • Help reinforce “The Green Way” and ensure our 34 Fundamentals are a daily discussion.
  • Assist in ensuring new technologies are received and utilized to fullest potential.
  • Create value propositions to assist with customers’ challenges and drive opportunities.
  • Develop and maintain proper internal processes to maximize customer service, productivity and profitability.
  • Ensure all relevant/applicable Customer and Corporate KPIs and guidelines are met.
  • Assist and develop implementation processes for onboarding of new customers by coordinating directly with Sales, Department Manager and Branch Manager.
  • Maintain existing customers and support local/regional sales team, support bid submissions.
  • Nurture working relationships with key overseas company colleagues – business partners.
  • Participate in vendor recruitment, negotiation and reviews.
  • Review billing status reports to enhance customer account profitability and timeliness & accuracy of all billings.
  • Work with management on individual employee development plans.
  • As part of growth environment, have own file load assigned in the beginning.

Howyou will be successful….

This role requires logistics experience with some Customs regulatory knowledge, a positive attitude, an eagerness to learn & improve, and excellent attention to detail – all while acknowledging and living by our company culture “The Green Way.”

  • 5 years of experience in import and export forwarding, with supervisory experience.
  • Must be able to work under pressure and meet deadlines, while maintaining a positive attitude and providing exemplary customer service while dealing with a variety of people.
  • Strong knowledge of various transportation modes including air freight, LCL, FCL as well as knowledge of domestic trucking and rail movements.
  • Excellent problem resolution and customer service skills.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks to meet various deadlines.
  • Intermediate computer skills with a proficiency in MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel & PowerPoint).
  • Excellent written & verbal communication skills.
  • Strong analytical skills including ability to analyze numbers and attention to detail.
  • Customs Brokerage license a plus, but not required; general Customs, Clearance & Compliance knowledge/experience required.
