Merit Electric is Hiring an Electrical Service Technician Near Fort Collins, CO

Well established Electrical Contractor looking for an Experienced Electrical Service Technician, Journeyman or Master Electrician, that would like to do Commercial and Residential service work. This position is for a Courteous, Hard working, and Organized Individual that will work directly with the Customer.

Electrical Service Technician Previous Experience in Service Truck Work, Commercial, Residential, Fire Alarm, and Mechanical Controls a plus.

Service Technician

Electrical Service Technicians are responsible for installing and maintaining electrical systems in residential and commercial buildings while communicating with clients to establish job details and related costs.

Compensation range is $34.00 to $38.00 hourly.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Provide customers with highest possible value, quality and satisfaction
  • Identify and troubleshoot electrical problems
  • Adhere to all local and state electrical codes
  • Complete work orders on time
  • Create records of material used
  • Constantly strive to improve level of competency and efficiency through training and internal cooperation
  • Anticipate customer needs and wants
  • Accurately complete daily logs and invoices
  • Maintain professional and positive attitude with coworkers and customers at all times
  • Build teamwork with other tradesmen and superintendents on projects
  • Possess a customer-oriented attitude

Skills

  • Experience and working knowledge of installation techniques, materials, theory and code
  • Expert at troubleshooting and maintenance problems
  • Expert at working with existing conditions
  • Lead by example mentality
  • Ability to plan ahead
  • Ability to organize a complex schedule
  • Properly control and maintain workload

Education and Experience

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalency
  • Valid Electrical Journeyman license
  • Valid Colorado Driver License
  • Satisfactory Motor Vehicle report
  • Strong knowledge of NEC & Local Codes
  • 2 years previous electrical service experience required

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to work in both extreme hot and cold conditions
  • Ability to safely lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Repetitive use of arms, hand and fingers
  • Ability to bend, stoop, squat, crawl, climb, kneel, balance, push, pull and reach overhead
  • Ability to work 40 hour weeks and overtime as required
