Halyard in Grand Rapids, MI is seeking an Assistant Construction Estimator to join our team. As part of our dynamic company, you will be involved in the exciting world of construction estimation, working closely with our experienced team to learn and grow in this fast-paced industry.

Your role will involve assisting in preparing cost estimates, analyzing project specifications, and collaborating with various departments to ensure accurate pricing. Organize & Maintain Bid Schedule (Commercial & Multi-Family) 

• Receive Emails from Estimating Director and Organize Bid Requests by Bid Dates and Priorities 
• Identify Bid Dates, Job Walk Throughs and RFI Deadlines in Bid Schedule 
• Manage Upcoming job lists in Weekly Meeting 
• Identify Specialty Subcontractor’s Scope of Work and distribute plans/documents to them so we can get quotes in a timely matter 
• Attend Job Walk-Throughs to collect information 
• Identify Missing information and work with Senior Estimators to resolve issues 
• Work with the Estimating Team to maintain the integrity of the Bid Schedule 

Project Set-Ups 

• Set up projects in the company file structure 
• Download Documents & Plans and place in Client Folder 
• Plot Plans & Print Bidding Documents (Invites/Scopes/Schedule/Specs, etc) 
• Keep Folders Up-to-Date with Addendums/RFIs/Updates as they are received from Clients 
• Manage Plotter Schedule 
• Initiate Project Kick-off and Project Close Out Forms for Awarded Projects (Generic Items) 
• Work with the Estimating Team to maintain the integrity of the Client Folder System/Structure 

Manage CRM 

• Set Up New Projects in CRM 
• Set Up new Clients/Contacts 
• Manage the data in CRM – audit & update project status/information 
• Generate regular reports 
• Work with the Estimating Team to maintain the integrity of CRM 

Perform Residential Estimating 

• Receive Requests from Residential PM, Clients, and Home Owners 
• Create Client Folders 
• Create & Manage Projects in CRM 
• Perform Take-Off in the EDGE 
• Generate Proposals for Estimates and distribute them appropriately 
• Generate Proposal for Residential PM quotes and distribute them appropriately 
• Generate and Maintain active Client Catalogs 
• Regular Communication with Estimating Team, Residential PM, Client, and/or Homeowners 
• Monthly Review of Project status with Quickbooks report and CRM/Ninety IO

• Knowledge of Edge Estimating software a plus
• Must have the ability to communicate effectively
• Manage the coordination of timelines/deadlines for vendor pricing
• The ability to plot drawings and the understanding of the different sizes of sheets and to operate the plotter effectively
• Effectively work alone or within a team
• Must be detail-orientated
