Glendale Community College is Hiring a Noncredit Life Skills Adjunct Instructor - Lifelong Learning Older Adults Near Glendale, CA

The Noncredit Business and Life Skills Division is currently accepting applications for part-time Lifelong Learning Seminar Instructors of to teach Older Adults select enrichment classes. Examples of courses (but not limited to) are:
  • Fitness, dance, movement
  • Computers/smartphones
  • Memoir Writing
  • Film appreciation
  • Art appreciation
     
Bachelor’s degree with a major related to the subject of course taught, and either:
A) 30 hours or 2 semester units of course work or class work in understanding the needs of the older adult taken at an accredited institution of higher education or approved by the district. This requirement may be completed concurrently during the 1st year of employment as a noncredit instructor; or B) One year of professional experience working with older adults
OR
AA Degree with a major related to the subject of the course taught; and 2 years of occupational experience related to the subject of the course taught; and 60 hours or 4 semester units of coursework or classwork in understanding the needs of the older adult, taken at an accredited institution of higher education or approved by the district. This last requirement may be completed concurrently during the first year of employment as a noncredit instructor.

  • Scanned copy of official transcripts showing completion of required degree. Unofficial transcripts will be accepted only during the application process. Official transcripts are required upon offer of employment. Foreign transcripts and degrees require official certification of equivalency to U.S. transcripts and degrees by a certified U.S. review service at the time of application.
All required documentation must be attached to the online application by the applicant.
Additional documents not requested in the announcement, will not be reviewed. Those applicants deemed best qualified will be invited to the college for an interview. Applications with incomplete information (i.e. statements such as "see resume") or missing documents will not be considered.
