Taylor Grocery Special Events Catering is Hiring a Catering Event Manager Near Oxford, MS

Taylor Grocery Special Events Catering has grown to become one of the premier caterers in North Mississippi by completing hundred of events each year. We are located at 41 CR 362 Oxford, Ms. with a satellite location at The Inn at Ole Miss and at 316 North Spring Street Tupelo, Ms. Our ideal candidate is a self-starter, motivated, and hard-working.

Responsibilities:

The catering event manager is responsible for the overall operation of the off site catering events including load out, transporting equipment and prep food, load in, set up, break down of event and unloading at our catering location. The catering event manager works closely with clients and our team to ensure their event is a success. Work schedule will include nights and weekends.

  • Manage a team of catering staff for successful execution of catering events.
  • Work consistently with catering kitchen, sales team and management on operation and execution of events.
  • Coordinate and manage catering event operations to assure quality events.
  • Oversee load out, transportation and set-up activities to ensure successful event.
  • Oversee break down, transportation and unloading activities after the event.
  • Train staffs on catering processes and policies.
  • Adhere to sanitation and safety standards and train team to follow those standards.
  • Understands employee positions well enough to perform duties in employees’ absence.
  • Monitors and maintains the productivity level of the event team.

Qualifications:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.   • 1 years’ experience in the food and beverage, culinary or related professional area in a supervisory or management role.
  • ServeSafe Food Manager Certification (if not already acquired, will be required within 30 days of employment)
  • Proven strong communication and leadership skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills, communication skills and multi-tasking capabilities
  • Clean driving record
  • Ability to read and interpret BEO's, work orders, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to communicate effectively with guests, management, vendors/suppliers, the general public and other employees of the Company.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems and quickly find a solution for the situations. 
  • Flexibility in schedule.
  • Ability to lift up to 25lbs regularly; up to 50lbs occasionally and to lift overhead and push/pull.
  • Must be able to frequently walk, sit, stand, bend, use hands to finger, handle, or feel; and talk or hear, stoop kneel, and crouch.
  • Exposed to outside weather conditions including low and hot temperatures.
