Description

Calvary Chapel Costa Mesa (CCCM) is a Jesus Formed Community on Mission. Community, Formation and Mission are the three main ways that we believe we are to live out our discipleship to Jesus. Through Gospel teaching, training, and resources, God’s people are enabled to take their discipleship into their own hands by living out the listening, serving and helping posture of Jesus in our church community.

CCCM will be engaging in the mission of God to reach those who are far from God and his kingdom by engaging in spiritual formation, practicing the way of Jesus through the spiritual disciplines in community and putting the life of Jesus and the community of the spirit on display through non-threatening exposures to the Jesus community. The ministry began with the church located in Costa Mesa, CA and has flourished and expanded into a multifaceted ministry, which includes Christian Schools, a Bible College, a School of Worship, Christian Radio Stations, Christian radio programs, Christian book distribution, and Christian bookstores. We are committed to God’s continued work through the ministry at CCCM

Calvary Chapel Bible College (CCBC) exists to train and develop men and women of all ages, backgrounds, and nationalities into Christ-like disciples and servant-leaders who know God through His Word and are equipped by His Spirit to serve Him in every area of life, for the glory of God. We are a ministry of Calvary Chapel Costa Mesa.

Position Purpose / Summary

The Instructor will be responsible for teaching online and participating in continuous improvement of the curriculum. Additional responsibilities may include advising students, participating on faculty committees, and other duties as described in the Faculty Handbook. Instructors will guide student learning through classes held online. Lastly, to strengthen the Body of Christ, through the light of God’s Word, for service in the world. The ideal candidate will be a minister of the Gospel, by being available for ministering and praying with students. They will also be a minister of the Gospel within the practical aspect of this position, and they will have a strong relationship with Jesus Christ.

Responsibilities / Duties / Functions / Tasks

  • Maintain a consistent devotional time with God and actively participate in a local church.
  • Agree with and live out the mission, vision, and core values of CCCM as outlined in the Statement of Faith (www.cccm.com)
  • Be an example to those who you come in contact and serve with by exuding the love of Christ
  • Understand that it is a privilege to serve the Lord in vocational ministry and that those who serve God on staff at CCCM are expected to embrace a high biblical, Christ-like standard of conduct and lifestyle, both public and personal
  • Maintain consistency and timely communication with online students.
  • Develop and deliver engaging online courses that align with the curriculum and learning objectives of CCBC.
  • Evaluate student performance using a variety of assessment methods and provide timely and constructive feedback to support their academic growth.

Requirements / Qualifications / Education

  • Have a vision for the future of biblical, Christian higher education and training and/or experience in ministry and education.
  • Teaching excellence and a willingness to serve the broader college community through service and teamwork are also expected.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and motivate students in a virtual setting.
  • A Master’s degree and 18 graduate-level hours in an applicable discipline are required (to be validated by official transcripts)

Desired Qualifications / Skills / Education

  • An earned doctorate in biblical and theological studies or a related field is preferred.
  • Proficiency in using online learning management systems (Populi).
  • Teaching experience at the college level is desirable.

This position is open to candidates residing in eligible states, including those in AL, AZ, AR, CA, CO, ID, IL, IN, KY, NM, NC, OK, OR, PA, TX, VA, and WA.

Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to sit; stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 20 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
