Salary: $52k-$59K/year.

Job Overview:
We are seeking a detail-oriented Purchasing Assistant to provide administrative and purchasing support to the Purchasing Manager. This position will help coordinate construction materials, maintain purchasing records, follow up with vendors, and ensure materials are available and properly organized for fabrication and job-site delivery.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide administrative support to the Purchasing Manager.
• Maintain accurate purchasing records and documentation.
• Follow up with vendors regarding purchase orders, deliveries, and backorders.
• Locate excess materials in trailers and the shop and pull materials as needed.
• Stage materials for fabrication or delivery to construction sites.
• Organize materials in the shop and track available inventory.
• Restock materials when items are returned.
• Review and approve invoices when required.
• Work with vendors to resolve and dispute incorrect charges.
• Review material submittals with the Purchasing Manager to verify that the correct materials have been requested and ordered.
• Communicate with vendors and internal teams regarding material requirements and availability.

Qualifications:

• Basic understanding of the construction process.
• Basic understanding of how construction material vendors operate.
• Basic computer skills.
• Strong organizational and follow-up skills.
• Good communication and attention to detail.
• Previous purchasing, material coordination, construction, or vendor experience is preferred.
• Experience working for a construction material supplier/vendor is highly preferred.

Ideal Candidate:
The ideal candidate will have experience with construction materials, purchasing, inventory, or vendor coordination and be comfortable working with vendors and internal construction teams.
