Overview

The engineer will work closely with project teams, senior engineers, and leadership to support product development, verification, validation, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform all work in compliance with company policies and the Quality System
- Apply test and reliability engineering principles to electromechanical medical devices
- Solve engineering problems using established engineering concepts, SOPs, and work instructions
- Support projects involving moderate technical complexity across multiple engineering disciplines
- Participate in technical investigations, product design reviews, and failure analysis activities
- Conduct root cause analysis on failures identified during testing
- Develop and execute reliability and environmental test strategies throughout the product lifecycle
- Design and develop test fixtures and supporting test systems
- Create and maintain test protocols and test plans using Helix ALM
- Support Design Verification Testing (DVT) and Design Validation Testing (DVAL)
- Collaborate with senior engineers, project teams, and leadership on technical decisions and product development activities
The engineer will support testing activities including:
- Environmental testing (temperature, humidity, altitude)
- Shock and vibration testing
- Reliability and lifecycle testing
- Shipping and transportation testing
- Dust ingress testing
- Water ingress testing
- Electrical, EMC, and EMI testing
- Test and reliability engineering experience
- Experience with electromechanical systems or medical devices
- Root cause analysis and failure investigation
- Test protocol and test plan development
- Environmental and reliability testing methodologies
- Mechanical and electrical subsystem testing
- Cross-functional collaboration skills
- Documentation and reporting within regulated environments
- Familiarity with quality systems and engineering documentation processes
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, or related field
- Experience working in regulated medical device environments
- Familiarity with IEC, FDA, or ISO standards related to medical devices
- Experience with Helix ALM or similar requirements/test management systems
- Exposure to EMC/EMI compliance testing
- Experience designing custom test fixtures or automation setups
