Ammonia Refrigeration Technician

Zing Recruiting, in partnership with a company in the food manufacturing industry, is seeking an Ammonia Refrigeration Technician to join their team! This full-time role offers opportunities for advancement and the chance to work with well-known consumer brands.

Ammonia Refrigeration Technician Job Summary

• Pay: $28–$33 per hour
• Shift: 2nd Shift, 6:00 PM – 6:00 AM
• Shift Differential: Additional $1.50/hour for 6am–6pm coverage

Ammonia Refrigeration Technician Responsibilities

• Perform daily inspections and maintenance on refrigeration systems including air conditioners, compressors, evaporators, boilers, and REM evaporative coils
• Execute complex repairs and overhauls on refrigeration equipment; isolate and service ammonia systems, replace valves and pumps, reset compressors, and calibrate temperature probes and CO2 monitors
• Install, replace, and maintain motors, pumps, switches, safety controls, solenoids, and fuses; manage refrigeration parts inventory and maintain accurate maintenance records
• Assist with setup, teardown, fabrication, and installation of plant equipment; support major repairs and construction for plant machinery and buildings
• Comply with all facility safety protocols including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), Confined Space, Respiratory Protection, and Fall Protection; participate in Hazmat training and team safety activities
  
  

Ammonia Refrigeration Technician Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; two-year degree in a specialized maintenance trade preferred
• 2 years of refrigeration maintenance experience, including boilers and ammonia compressors
• Ability to safely use air-purifying respirators (APR), Self-Contained Breathing Apparatus (SCBA), and obtain Hazmat certification
• Advanced electrical and mechanical maintenance skills; ability to obtain licenses such as boiler and forklift certifications
• Physically able to lift up to 90 lbs. and committed to following all safety policies and procedures
