Position Overview:
We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Installation Manager to lead our in-house installation operations. This is a critical leadership role within our organization, responsible for managing field crews, coordinating scheduling, maintaining quality standards, and serving as the primary liaison between our customers and installation teams. The ideal candidate brings deep expertise in the door, frame, and hardware (DF H) industry and thrives in a fast-paced, project-driven environment.
Key Responsibilities:
• Manage and direct in-house installation teams for commercial hollow metal frame, wood door, and finish hardware projects across the South Florida region.
• Develop and maintain short-and long-range scheduling of manpower and materials to ensure timely and efficient project execution.
• Conduct pre-installation job site evaluations to assess readiness and identify any conditions that could impact commencement of installation.
• Review field job reports for accuracy and completeness; verify installer time sheets and submit payroll documentation in a timely manner.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for customer communications related to installation - managing expectations, resolving field issues, and ensuring a positive customer experience.
• Maintain thorough project documentation and correspondence, including job logs, change orders, RFIs, and completion reports.
• Enforce quality control standards throughout all phases of installation to ensure work meets specification, code, and company performance benchmarks.
• Coordinate with our sales, estimating, and warehouse teams to ensure proper material readiness prior to scheduled installations.
• Proactively identify and resolve scheduling conflicts, manpower challenges, or material shortages before they impact project timelines.
Required Qualifications:
• Minimum 10 years of hands-on experience in the door, frame, and hardware (DF H) industry- distributor, contractor, or manufacturer background preferred.
• Demonstrated mechanical proficiency in the installation of hollow metal frames, commercial wood doors, and finish hardware (closers, locksets, exit devices, hinges, access control, etc.).
• Proven experience managing installation crews and coordinating complex multi-project schedules.
• Prior exposure to job cost management, payroll verification, and field reporting processes.
• Strong computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook; familiarity with project management or scheduling software is a plus.
• Exceptional attention to detail - capable of reviewing submittals, hardware schedules, and field reports with a discerning eye.
• Professional verbal and written communication skills; able to engage confidently with general contractors, project managers, and building owners.
• Valid Florida driver's license with a clean driving record; ability to travel to job sites throughout the region as required.
