Experience And Qualifications
The Social Worker shall be appointed by the Board of School Directors and be compensated as determined by the collective bargaining agreement. The Social Worker will work 215 days and develop a work calendar in conjunction with the building Administrator and Supervisor of Student Services.

- Be licensed by the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania as a Social Worker.
- Possess a Master's Degree in social work.
- Have knowledge of community mental health agencies.
- Possess experience working with students exhibiting behavioral and emotional concerns.
- Have gained experience working in a human services field or counseling, preferably in a public school setting.
- Have knowledge of research based and best practice programs.
- Ability to interact with staff, families, and students in a manner that demonstrates respect and dignity.
- Ability to effectively solve problems in a professional manner
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
- Act 34 Clearance, Act 151 Clearance, FBI Clearance

- Have as their primary responsibility to support K-8 and high school students by providing direct interventions to include individual and group support, linkage to formal and informal community resources, and collaboration with all stakeholders.
- Perform casework service with all students to correct personal, social or social maladjustments related to their educational and social progress.
- Work with parents/guardians as an integral part of the task of helping them understand that their constructive participation in resolving their child's problems is important to increase their knowledge and use of available resources.
- Facilitate referrals to appropriate mental health agencies as deemed appropriate.
- Be able to work flexible hours to meet the needs of students and their families, including home visits.
- Coordinate the referral of students to, and serve as a liaison with outside agencies such as Department of Human Services, Mental Health/Intellectual and/or Developmental Disability/Drug and Alcohol, Children Youth and Family Services, Child and Adolescent Integrated Practice Team (IPT) meeting, Juvenile Probation, and other public or private agencies and programs providing mental health and behavioral services to students.
- Active Multi-tiered System of Support (MTSS) member for all students with behavioral/emotional concerns. Focus on Tier II groups and interventions for students.
- Assist in planning therapeutic, remedial, and behavioral modification activities provided by the District.
- Assist with the coordination and implementation of positive school-wide behavioral support.
- Serve on the School Crisis Intervention Team.
- Assume other responsibilities as assigned by the building administration.
