What are the responsibilities and job description for the Mack Assistant Manager position at YMCA INDIANA COUNTY PENNSYLVANIA?
Under the direction of the Director of Aquatics and Mack Pool Manager, the Assistant Pool Manager will be responsible for the safety, cleanliness, and operation of the swimming pool during operational hours. The primary function of the assistant pool manager is in the smooth operation of the pool. In addition to Lifeguarding duties, and swim lessons (if needed) they will assist the pool manager with safeguarding the health and safety of members, class participants, and guests. In addition, they will supervise the lifeguarding staff and will maintain proper pool maintenance. The Assistant Pool Manager must demonstrate a commitment to the YMCAs’ four Core Values of Caring, Honesty, Respect, and Responsibility.
KNOWLEDGE – SKILLS - ABILITIES:
Education/Certification: Current Lifeguard, CPR, First Aid, and AED. & Pool Operator’s license per city/county regulations required.
Experience: Minimum 3 years as Lifeguard with YMCA and 5 years total experience as a certified lifeguard is preferred. Experience in a supervisory position preferred.
Working Conditions: Exposure to some chemicals; hot humid environment, exposure to direct sunlight.
Equipment Used: Pool rescue equipment, extension poles, ring buoys, rescue tubes. Water testing chemicals. Cleaning supplies and equipment, including floor scrubbers, mops, buckets and brooms.
