What are the responsibilities and job description for the Facilities Worker - Maintenance position at YMCA INDIANA COUNTY PENNSYLVANIA?
Under the direction of the Director of Facilities or other assigned staff, the Maintenance Worker is responsible for performing general facility maintenance, repairs, and custodial duties to ensure the YMCA provides a safe, clean, and welcoming environment for members, participants, staff, and visitors. This position addresses maintenance and safety concerns in compliance with applicable codes and YMCA of the USA guidelines while demonstrating the YMCA's core values of Caring, Honesty, Respect, and Responsibility. The Maintenance Worker may also assist the Director of Facilities with administrative tasks assigned. This position is up to 15 hours per week.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Perform maintenance and repair tasks assigned by the Director of Facilities.
- Complete snow removal and ice control to maintain safe access to YMCA facilities.
- Perform landscaping and grounds maintenance.
- Assist with plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and general building repairs as directed.
- Set up and move furniture, equipment, and rooms for YMCA programs and events.
- Perform custodial duties as needed to maintain a clean and safe facility.
- Support and enforce YMCA policies, OSHA regulations, health and safety standards, and applicable maintenance procedures.
- Identify and report maintenance and safety concerns promptly.
- Help maintain facilities that are safe, functional, and welcoming for members, participants, staff, and guests.
- Assist the Director of Facilities with administrative duties as assigned.
KEY REQUIREMENTS:
- FBI Fingerprint (Department of Human Services), State Police PATCH, PA Child Abuse, Mandated Reporter clearances are required at the time of hire.
- Pediatric First Aid/CPR/AED and Great American Academy certifications due within 90 days of hire.
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Minimum of two (2) years of facility maintenance experience preferred.
- Valid driver's license required.
- HVAC and CFC Class II certifications strongly preferred.
- Ability to safely operate vehicles, tools, and maintenance equipment.
- Ability to perform physically demanding work, including lifting up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to stand, bend, stoop, and work outdoors in various weather conditions.
