Position Overview
The Accounting Manager will play a key role in the monthly close process, financial reporting, internal controls, and staff development. This individual will partner with finance leadership to ensure accurate financial reporting, maintain compliance with accounting standards, and support continuous improvement initiatives across the accounting function. Key responsibilities include:
Accounting & Financial Reporting
- Review and prepare journal entries and account reconciliations
- Maintain the accuracy and integrity of the general ledger
- Support monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes
- Prepare financial reports and supporting schedules
- Assist with technical accounting research and application of U.S. GAAP
- Ensure compliance with company accounting policies and procedures
Internal Controls & Compliance
- Support SOX compliance efforts and internal control activities
- Prepare and review control documentation and testing support
- Partner with internal audit and external auditors during audit engagements
- Assist in maintaining a strong control environment and identifying process improvement opportunities
Leadership & Business Partnership
- Review work performed by Staff and Senior Accountants
- Provide coaching, mentoring, and professional development support
- Manage priorities, deadlines, and departmental objectives
- Partner cross-functionally on projects, business initiatives, and accounting matters
- Evaluate accounting implications of new agreements, transactions, and operational initiatives
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
- CPA license or active CPA-track candidate
- 4 years of accounting experience within public accounting or a combination of public accounting and industry
- Experience supervising, reviewing, or mentoring accounting staff
- Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP and financial reporting principles
- Ability to operate effectively in a deadline-driven environment
Preferred
- Public company accounting experience
- Exposure to SEC reporting and close processes
- Experience in a complex or multi-entity environment
- Experience with large ERP systems (SAP preferred)
Salary : $120,000 - $125,000
