Trucking Dispatcher

Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized Dispatcher to join our logistics team. The ideal candidate will coordinate the movement of freight and manage transportation operations efficiently using advanced transportation management systems. This role requires excellent communication skills, strong analysis abilities, and proficiency in various logistics software tools. The Dispatcher will play a critical part in ensuring timely deliveries, optimizing fleet utilization, and maintaining seamless communication across departments to support supply chain operations.

Duties

• Coordinate and schedule freight shipments using transportation management systems such as Oracle Transportation Management, SyteLine, and AS400.
• Utilize GIS and GPS technologies to monitor vehicle locations and optimize routing for efficiency.
• Manage dispatching activities for fleet management, including assigning drivers and vehicles to routes based on priority and availability.
• Oversee shipping & receiving processes, ensuring accurate data entry and documentation for all shipments.
• Communicate effectively with drivers, warehouse staff, and clients via multi-line phone systems, maintaining professional phone etiquette at all times.
• Track and analyze transportation data to identify opportunities for process improvements within supply chain logistics.
• Collaborate with 3PL providers and coordinate freight movements across various carriers.
• Maintain detailed records of dispatch activities, vehicle logs, and shipment statuses to ensure compliance with safety standards and company policies.
• Support transportation planning efforts by analyzing traffic patterns, delivery schedules, and fleet capacity to optimize operational efficiency.

Experience

• Proven experience in dispatching within transportation management or logistics environments preferred.
• Familiarity with transportation management systems such as Oracle Transportation Management, SyteLine, or AS400 is highly desirable.
• Strong understanding of GIS, GPS technology, and supply chain principles related to freight movement and fleet management.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to handle multi-line phone systems professionally.
• Proficiency in data entry, typing skills, and analysis tools for effective decision-making.
• Knowledge of shipping & receiving procedures along with freight documentation requirements.
• Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail. Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $20.00 - $24.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 – 44 per week
